This paper presents the brief profile of APSRTC in terms of vision, corporate philosophy, guiding principles, maintenance strategy, power generation, IT initiatives and future plans and explains against this background how APSRTC has crafted strategies and implemented for achieving the award for highest Kilo Meter Per Litre (KMPL) in fuel efficiency. Through transformation at both operations and workforce front, APSRTC could achieve many awards and distinctions and today it stands first as mentor for different RTCs across the country.
This paper unfolds the whole training program schedule and how the participants are trained, mentored and awarded for their merit of achieving the highest kilometre per hour in fuel efficiency. Also the paper covers select cases in brief pertaining to the Delhi Government's cluster based strategies, initiatives of EMBARQ India, Star Bus seriously engaged in sensitising their employees for Better Driving and thereby the Improved Fuel Efficiency.
