Abstract

Against the background to the evolution of Technology Business Incubators in India, this paper presents an overview of the TBIs in India. It covers the services of TBI, objectives, criteria for selection, thrust areas, facilities required, sponsorship opportunities, activities, organisation status, staff structure, role of host institution, estimated project cost, and factors promoting self sufficiency. Also it analyses the bottlenecks restricting their operational effectiveness. A detailed insight into T-hub activities is presented here. It concludes with specific recommendations for the effective functioning of TBIs.
