Society is made up of diverse sections of people with economic, cultural, educational, psychological, biological political differences. Since the dawn of civilization, society is endeavoring in one or the other way to solve community related problems. We learned from many sources that there were many people who ventured their lives to solve many social problems of human society. Many socialists, economists, scientists played a significant roles in this field. In spite of continuous effort from individuals, people associations, organizations, government agencies, philanthropic societies the society is still encountered by various unsolved and newly triggered social issues that hamper overall development of the society. These days it is found that not only nonprofit organizations but also but also some profit oriented organizations involved in social entrepreneurship to create employment and provide valuable service to the society with the primary objective of social service like old age home, working women's hostel, schools to poor community etc., Besides this even academics also now a days entering into the main stream and indulging in taking up social issued to solve them an a organized and scientific ways through their knowledge based human and technological resources. The present study is aimed at understanding the role and perception of college teachers in the on social problems and their attitude towards venturing to solve such issues with or without economic motive.
