A study on banking correspondents in financial inclusion with reference to dakshina Kannada District

Abstract

Financial inclusion enables improve better sustainable economic and social development of the country. Financial Inclusion it is an act of reaching the banking products to the weaker sections or low income groups of the society making them to avail financial services in affordable costs. Like for example opening bank accounts in zero balance and availing banking services.in order to meet their day today needs of poor people or weaker sections of the society can gain financial services to fulfil their needs. Banking correspondents are those who provide services on behalf of other financial institution. So in this paper we analysed to know about how banking correspondents helps in reaching out the banking products to weaker section of the society. The role of banking correspondents in financial inclusion and their challenges and problems. This paper mainly on empirical study were we met BC's and with the help of questionnaires we did our survey. Simple random sampling is taken for the collection of the sample. To analyse the data used SPSS software has been used as a statistical tool. Like percentage analysis. This paper helps the people to understand about how banking correspondents help in financial inclusion.
