The need for improving the trends of digital payments system in rural India is very important. Because the economic progress of India is largely dependent on rural India. Rural India has significant impact on the economic progress of the country. Considering the benefits like transparency in transactions, scope for curtailing parallel economy and improving the ease of business, it is very essential that the transformation towards digital payments, even in the rural economy is empowered. Though wide variety of digital services are being provided by banks, large portion of rural customers do not possess knowledge as to their use and benefits. So there is a need of customer education on digital services which supports the adoption digital modes of payments. This paper makes an attempt to understand the need for educating rural population about digital banking services and also tries to identify strategies to make new digital services of bank attractive, effective and acceptable to rural population. This research paper focuses on the perception and attitude of rural people regarding obstacles on digital payment system. The data is collected both from primary and secondary sources. Around 100 samples were taken in Udupi region for this survey. The variables that influence the customer's to adopt to electronic payments services are identified to analyze the impact of digital payments.
