The programme of Digital India is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. “Faceless, paperless, cashless” is the main motto of digital India. Cashless means less cash and not no cash, it is not possible to go completely cashless in India as it is an incredibly cash – centric economy. Going cashless will take time and a lot of public education is needed as India culturally believes in cash. Cashless economy is now promoted as an effective tool for development of India through digitalization. As part of promoting cashless transactions and converting into less-cash society, various modes of digital payments are available such as Bank cards, Mobile Wallets, Mobile banking, Micro ATM's, Point of sale etc. Demonetization is a tool helping digital economy move from dream to reality and Cashless future is a real Goal of India's demonetization move. Digital payment is a great idea for developing our country's economy as it is convenient, time saving, user friendly. Transactions can be performed at any time at anywhere. With more tight cyber laws and monitoring system it might help country move completely cash less. If every digital payment is secured in Indian economy then it is a huge achievement to go cashless.
