Abstract

With the wide-spread awareness about human values and human rights, inclusive education is gaining grounds in all walks of life. Education is no exception. Education of students with disabilities on par with others is the sum and subsistence of Inclusive education. Government is taking a lot of positive initiatives to promote inclusive education among all schools, colleges, and universities. Special privileges, allowances, reservation in government jobs and many more encouraging steps have been taken by government to enable the disabled. The west claims all the credits for bringing inclusive education into the framework of modern educational setup. Educational philosophy is asserted to be the asset of the west. Humble effort is made in this paper to unravel the hidden treasure of Indian philosophical perspective to inclusive education. Any educational system, to be able to be effective and enduring, should be molded on the strong philosophical grounds. Then alone it can serve the supreme purpose in a coherent way. Educational philosophy forms firm foundation to build the whole society. It has to be built on the grounds of faith and conviction which got reflected and influenced from the approach towards life. The quality of life and attitude will have tremendous impact on individual life, and thereby on social life.
