The primary objective of this research is to develop the contextual relation between the barriers of cellular manufacturing system (CMS). Moreover, this paper is also helpful to interpret collective impacts of these barriers and to identify driving barrier (which helps to achieve other barriers) and dependent barriers (which are mostly achieved by driving and linkage barriers). A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to rank these barriers, and interpretive structural modelling approach has been used to model the structural relationship between these barriers. CMS barriers have been analysed through matrice d’ Impacts croises-multipication appliqu´ean classment (MICMAC) analysis (based on their driving power and dependence power). The purpose behind the MICMAC analysis is to analyse ‘Key Barriers’. Key barriers are those barriers which influences all other barriers. These barriers require management consciousness so that the management can effectively manage its assets in a systematic and impressive way.
