Solid Waste Management is one among the basic essential services provided by Bhopal Municipal Corporation. In the Present study GIS Arc View 3.2a has been used to find the shortest route for the transportation of Solid Waste. In this study it is shown that by the use of this software, efficiency of transportation of solid waste is increased to a great extent. The present study has thrown light over the areas where improvement can be done. It also suggests the suitability of technology for Bhopal city based on the quality of Municipal Solid Waste of Bhopal city.
