The data from 332 sheep in Kendrapada and Marsaghai blocks belonging to 49 farmers of 9 villages of coastal Orissa were used in the present study. The mean value for body weight at birth, 3, 6, 9 and 12 month of age are 1.89 0.01, 6.68 0.03, 10.79 0.03, 14.81 0.03 and 18.03 0.01 kg, respectively. Age at maturity is 349.06 0.93 days and age at first lambing is 518.67 0.81 days. This indigenous sheep was observed to breed throughout the year but most of them come to heat in summer (67%). The most common season of lambing was September to November. Twining percentage was very high in second (74%) and third (78%) lambing.
