Abstract

Technologies generated for fertilizer use, crop yield for two seasons and sheep health programme were assessed in field under the institution village linkage programme. Field-testing of high yielding crop resulted an increase of yield to the tune of 25% (14.13 to 53.09%) over local variety in all the crops during Rabi and Kharif season. Whereas, balanced use of fertilizer in wheat and pearl millet resulted an increase of yield by 20% (16.80 to 24.36%) against the farmer's practices. In sheep health management, 1/3rd of sheep were found positive with respect to endoparasitic load and for control of parasites they were drenched with suitable anthelmintics. The average mortality was down to nearly 3.0% at the end of the project. The adoption level of improved farming practices after the implementation of the project was significantly increased over the years.
