A survey was conducted in 3 districts of the major breeding tract and 1 district of minor breeding tract of Sonadi sheep by using two stages stratified sampling design. Sonadi sheep are reared mainly on grazing and the farmers give no supplementation to them. The absolute weight gain was 92, 60, 33, 41, 32 and 20 g/day during 0–3, 3–6, 6–9, 9–12, 12–15 and 15–18 months of age, respectively.
