Abstract

The influence of season and age was studied in Magra rams. On advancement of age, there was significant decrease in the T3, T4, glucose and cholesterol concentrations and increase in urea concentration. There were significantly higher concentrations of T3, T4, glucose, and cholesterol in winter and urea concentration in summer season. These findings gave the basis for prevention of the metabolic disturbances of rams. Further it seems that season and age have the significant effect on the thyroid function that ultimately responsible for readjustment in blood metabolites in order to maintain milieu interior.
