Mastitis due to Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus, a zoonotic pathogen is very rare in small ruminants. Out of 48 milking does, nine were found to be affected with clinical mastitis due to Streptococcus equi subsp.zooepidemicus with a morbidity of 18.75%. S. equi subsp. zooepidemicus was isolated in pure culture and identified by biochemical profile and by polymerase chain reaction.
