Abstract

In the present study, bacteriological examination was carried out on 102 nasal swabs and 96 tissue samples (32 tonsils, 32 tracheas and 32 lungs) collected from apparently healthy and sick goats. A total 144 isolates belonging to 9 bacterial and one mycoplasma species were obtained. Staphylococcus spp. (29.9%) and E. coli (18.8%) were predominant Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. On in vitro antibiogram study, enrofloxacin, gentamicin, ciprofloxacin, streptomycin, amoxicillin, ampicillin, cefepime and amikacin were found to be the most sensitive.
