Abstract

Mortality pattern in German Angora rabbits was analyzed from 1998-2001 at ICAR Research Complex, Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim. The overall mortality was 37.81 %. The highest mortality was recorded in young ones (26.67%). The overall monthly mortality ranged from 28.57% (November) to 56.52% (June). The major causes of mortality were pneumonia (14.77%), enteritis (12.50%), gastritis and systemic infection (11.36% each) and gastro-enteritis (9.09%).
