Abstract

The entire adult flock of Bharat Merino at Mannavanur was studied for the physical attributes of wool viz. fibre diameter, staple length and bundle strength. The diameter and staple length were almost normally distributed. The variations in diameter, tenacity and staple length were 16.60, 21.57 and 33.87%. The bundle strength indicated that the strength of wool from the majority of the animals was normal.
