The present study was undertaken on 36 semen samples of 12 (6 Osmanabadi and 6 Sirohi) bucks. Semen was collected by artificial vagina method, diluted with different extenders i.e. Tris-egg yolk-glycerol (TYG), Tris-egg yolk-dimethyl sulphoxide (TYD) and Tris-egg yolk-ethylene glylcol (TYE) and cryo-preserved. A total 216 oestrous synchronized does were inseminated with frozen semen. The study indicates that cryoprotectant plays an important role in semen preservation and it can be concluded that, amongst the extenders better conception rate was obtained with TYD extender containing DMSO.
