Abstract

The higher mortality was recorded in the early age (0–3 months) and mortality decreased with the advanced of age. According to birth weight of lambs, the highest mortality rate was found in < 3.0 kg birth weight groups followed by 3.0 to 3.5 kg and >3.5 kg birth weight groups. In Deccani lambs the highest mortality was recorded in summer season, followed by rainy season and lowest in winter season. Respiratory (31.01%) and alimentary disorders (15.98%) were the dominant causes of mortality in lambs.
