A four year-old buck was presented with a history of chronic lameness in the right fore limb. The buck was unable to bear body weight on the affected limb. A latero-medial radiograph revealed osteoarthritis at pastern and coffin joint. The buck was given general anesthesia and 2nd phalanx was amputated from the middle with the help of chisel and hammer. A latero-medial radiograph obtained after one week confirmed absence of osteoarthritis in amputed 2nd digit and animal showed absence of lameness and normal movement.
