Abstract

A study was undertaken to assess the influence of genetic and non-genetic factors on different carcass traits in two synthetic genetic groups (APAU-Black and APAU-Fawn). Data on carcass traits of 32 rabbits (16 from each genetic group) were analyzed. Overall mean for hot-carcass weight and dressing per cent were 1691.10g and 58.46%, respectively. In general, APAU-Black rabbit performed better over APAU-Fawn rabbit in most of carcass traits, stating it to be a betteroption for profitable rabbitfarming.
