Haemato-biochemical profiles of malabari kids fed broiler concentrate diet

An experiment was carried out on Malabari male kids, to study the response of broiler goat concentrate diet on haemato-biochemical profiles. Pre-weaned male kids (14) were randomly allocated to two groups. Kids of T₁ group were allowed to suckle their does till 12 weeks. Kids of T₂ group were weaned at the age of two weeks and were reared intensively till 12^th week by feeding semi solid concentrate diet. Though Hb, PCV, RBC and TLC were not significantly different at 2^nd week, at 12^th week there was significant (P<0.01) difference between all the parameters. MCV differed significantly (P<0.01) between groups at 12^th week. The glucose and total protein levels differed significantly (P<0.01) at 12^th week. The levels of blood urea nitrogen at 2^nd and 12^th week were significantly (P<0.05) higher in T₂ group. It was concluded that the broiler goat production system had significant influence on the haemato-biochemical profiles of Malabari male kids.
