Abstract

Goitre, an iodine deficiency disorder is characterized by enlargement of the thyroid glands. Besides, low T₄ and high T₃ levels, there was a concomitant occurrence of severe hypoglycemia, hypercholesterolemia and heart rate. Goitre in kids can be treated by levothyroxine sodium therapy with iodine supplementation.
