Goitre, an iodine deficiency disorder is characterized by enlargement of the thyroid glands. Besides, low T4 and high T3 levels, there was a concomitant occurrence of severe hypoglycemia, hypercholesterolemia and heart rate. Goitre in kids can be treated by levothyroxine sodium therapy with iodine supplementation.
