Eighteen Osmanabadi kids (3–4 months old) were randomly allocated to 3 groups, i.e. Gr-I, Gr-II and Gr-III with floor space allowance of 0.8 (standard), 0.7 and 0.6m, respectively. Social behaviour was observed using continuous focal sampling methods and measured as frequency/4h/week. The frequency of offensive behaviour like pushing, threatening, displacement from food and resting place were significantly (P<0.05) more in Gr-I and Gr-II as compared to Gr-I. Frontal clashing, butting, nosing and grooming behaviors were not significantly affected by different floor spaces. The aggression level in kids was more sensitive to changes in space allowance. It was concluded that decreasing floor space allowance from the standard (0.8m2) led to increased frequency of offensive behaviour that affects the welfare of kids.
