In this study, adult immersion test (AIT) and larval packet test (LPT) were employed for the evaluation of deltamethrin resistance status in Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus ticks collected from organised and unorganised goat farms of Palampur (Himachal Pradesh). On AIT, the mean mortality varied significantly (P<0.05) fromnil (controland upto 200 ppm delta methrin) to 40.0±0.24% (800 ppm delta methrin). The inhibition of oviposition varied significantly (P<0.05) from nil (control) to 28.83% (800 ppm deltamethrin). The RF (resistance factor) values on AIT and LPT were 23.98 and 10.2, respectively, suggesting level II of resistance (moderate) against deltamethrin in Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus ticks from Gaddi goats of north-western Himalayas.
