The efficiency of Least Squares Means and BLUP procedures of estimating sire breeding values for birth weight of kids was studied. It was found that both the methods were equally efficient in ranking the top 25–30% sires. Rank correlation coefficients among the ranks and product moment correlations among the sire estimates were also very high with their respective values as 0.877 and 0.905. Both these figures were highly significant (P<0.01), too. It indicated that both the methods are highly correlated and are almost equally efficient in estimating the breeding value of bucks.
