The present communication describes the successful surgical management of dorsal hernia caused by buffalo kicking in a 4 months old non-descript kid. Animal was presented with a history of swelling on the dorsal aspect of the loin region since last two weeks. Clinical examination confirmed a dorsal abdominal hernia. The herniorraphy was done under 2% lignocaine local infiltration and epidural administration. Prompt postoperative care with antibiotics and analgesics lead to a successful outcome. Sutures were removed on the 10th postoperative day. Timely surgical intervention minimizes the associated risks and animal made an uneventful recovery.
