Urinary tract affections in goats are the most important cause of death in small ruminants. Out of 2116 goat cases reported to the surgical outpatient unit, 73 goats (3.45%) had urinary tract affections. Sex-wise incidence was higher in males (97.26%) than in females. The incidence of urinary tract affection was higher in younger (<12 months old) animals. Maximum cases were recorded for non-descript (67.12%) followed by Tellicherry (17.81%) and Salem Black goats (10.96). Among 73 cases, affections were urinary obstruction/calculi (47.95%), sub-urethral diverticulum (41.10%), uroabdomen (4.11%) and pervious urachus, rectovaginal fistula, medullary rim sign, urethral obstruction with perinephric cyst and cystoplagia (1.37% each). The study suggested that urolithiasis is the most common urinary tract affections and males are more prone to urinary tract affections than females.
