Abstract

Data pertaining to 100 local ewes were utilized for body measurements studies. The average body measurements were observed as chest girth (X1) 76.48±0.38 cm, abdominal girth (X2) 88.04±0.71 cm, body length (X3) 101.96±0.57 cm and body weight (Y) 30.39±0.40 kg. Correlation study revealed that all the body measurements are positively and significantly correlated with each other. The R2 value indicate that body weight can be predicted from chest girth, abdominal girth and body length, with at least 69% reliability with multiple regression equation which is found to be of practical utility in field conditions.
