Epidemiological studies on ovine gastrointestinal parasitism conducted in the field conditions in semi arid region of Rajasthan revealed that egg count of strongyle worms started rising from April and reached to its peak in September and then started declining. The infection rate of Fasciola was found maximum during monsoon while, Schistosoma was prevalent during summer. Eimeria ovina, E. ninakohlykimovae and E. ahsala were the pathogenic coccidia encountered in sheep in field conditions. It was concluded that strategic drenching is required to prevent the build-up of infection in sheep for nematode parasites during monsoon.
