Abstract

Physical parameters of wool fibres are important to know their processing quality and end use suitability. The assessment of individual animals in flock may provide a scope to select and group the animals to desired quality of wool. The present studies on Bharat Merino sheep flock at Mannavanur, Kodai Hills of Tamil Nadu indicated that during 1998, the wool had 20.32μ fibre diameter, 1.67% medullation, 8.19 g/tex tenacity and 19.19% extension.
