Abstract

Two breeds of goat (Jamunapari and Jhakrana) were used for polymegaly studies. Bimodal curve was obtained in Jamunapari for midpiece length. Polymegaly was obtained in Jhakrana for midpiece length and tail length in both the genetic groups. Fresh semen were used for identification of Y-bearing spermatozoa. Fluorescent microscopy after enzyme (protease) treatment was used for identification of Y-chromosome bearing buck spermatozoa. A fluorescent spot was observed at the distal third of spermatozoal head.
