Scanning electron microscopy of the sheep Mammary gland

The technique for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) has been standardized. The micrographs of non-lactating mammary gland showed arrangement of connective tissue fibres. In lactating mammary gland arrangement of alveoli and ducts was clearly discernible. It is suggested that this technique should be further extended to understand the events taking place during different stages of mammary gland development in sheep.
