Studies on seminal attributes and fertility of Crossbred bucks

A study was conducted on 10 crossbred bucks maintained under stallfed condition. Collections (88) were made from bucks and evaluated for various physical attributes such as colour and consistency, volume, mass activity, progressive motility, sperm concentration, total sperm number per ejaculate, live and dead spermatozoa, total abnormality percent and acrosomal intact and non intact spermatozoa percent. Bucks differed significantly (p<0.01) for all the traits under study except sperm concentration and total sperm number per ejaculate. Fertility indices constructed using all the aforesaid parameters could predict the conception rate to 26.02%.
