Abstract

Ethnoveterinary practices used by sheep farmers in Rajasthan were assessed in a random sample of 150 sheep rearers in three districts (Jaipur, Ajmer and Tonk) of Rajasthan. A total of 182 ethnoveterinary practices used against 17 prevalent diseases were found. The percentage of the farmers using a practice and its scientific relevance score were estimated. Integrating ethnoveterinary medicine with modern medicine is emphasized for sustainable sheep rearing.
