Abstract

To assess the cardiopulmonary fitness in a healthy adult population. The mean values of PEFR (L/min) obtained pre-ETT and post-ETT were 282.22 ± 64.83 and 403.25 ± 40.09 in females and males respectively. HRmax (beats/min) being 173.76 ± 9.98 was 90.92% of the predicted value. VO2max being on the lower side was only 1745.41 ± 349.35 ml, showing the low physical fitness in the study population. The cardiopulmonary fitness of the current population was considerably less even though being within the normal range, and they are also predisposed to various cardiovascular conditions.
