Abstract

Various ligands changes in phase transfer catalyst named18-Crown-6 during the reaction between Aqueous potassium thiocynate and P-Nitrobenzyl bromide resulting significantly change in reaction rate. Change in Ligand lipophilicity makes valuable impact in catalyst performance. When electron withdrawing carbonyl group function act as a ligand then lower reaction rate observed, reverse is true when electron releasing alkyl group function act as a ligand than higher reaction rate is observed.
