Abstract

In the literature of acceptance sampling, the procedure for the construction of sampling plans indexed through various parameters such as MAPD, AOQL, MAAOQ and so on are provided. The construction and designing of sampling plans indexed through MAPD, AOQL, MAAOQ were studied by Soundararajan (1975), Suresh and Ramkumar (1996), Radhakrishnan (2002) and Sampath Kumar (2008). Radhakrishnan (2002) established that the sampling plan indexed through MAAOQ have lesser sample size and more probability of acceptance of lot than the plan indexed through AOQL. In this paper, a procedure is given to construct a Single Sampling Plan indexed through a parameter which is a convex combination of AOQL and MAAOQ with gain parameter (λ), using Poisson Distribution as the baseline distribution. These plans may safeguard the interests of both producer as well as the consumer by properly choosing a right combination using the gain parameter (λ). Tables are also constructed for easy selection of the plans.
