Abstract

We applied six traditional forecasting techniques namely Naïve method, Simple Moving Average method, Double Moving Average method, Simple exponential smoothing method, Double exponential smoothing method (Brown's one parameter) and Double exponential smoothing method (Holt's two parameter) for forecasting the sales demand of secondary data obtained from cement manufacturing unit. We compare these techniques using three accuracy measures mean squared error, mean absolute percent error, and mean absolute deviation.
