Use of information technology created new methods in public administration, quality, services, in crimes; e-governance etc, In this paper an application of information technology to the public distribution system is studied and analyzed with an example. In present case 4 metros and 31 cities (more than one million population) are taken for public distribution system. Use of egovernance is more economical in metros and capital cities than that of district head quarters. Also this reduces vehicles on the road and avoids traffic jam and inconvenience to public in general.
