Construction of Continuous Sampling Plan Indexed through AOQcc

Abstract

In the literature of acceptance sampling, the procedure for the construction of sampling plans indexed through various parameters such as MAPD, AOQL, MAAOQ and so on provided. The construction and designing of sampling plans indexed through MAPD, AOQL, MAAOQ were studied by Soundararajan (1975), Suresh and Ramkumar (1996), Radhakrishnan (2002) and Sampath Kumar (2008). Radhakrishnan (2002) established that the sampling plans indexed through MAAOQ have lesser sample size and more probability of acceptance of lot than the plan indexed through AOQL. Radhakrishnan and Mallika (2009) introduced the concept of AOQcc which is the convex combination of AOQL and MAAOQ with gain parameter λ (0<λ<1) in the construction of sampling plans. In this paper a procedure for constructing Continuous Sampling Plan-1 (CSP-1) indexed through AOQcc. This plan may safeguard the interests of both producer as well as consumer by properly choosing a right combination using the gain parameter λ. A table is also provided for the easy selection of the plan when λ = 0.1, λ = 0.4 and MAPD = 0.0015.
