Abstract

This study is a survey on the reasons of the Sasanid dynasty's collapse as a great empire. The process of introduction of Islam to Iran, how and why the Arabs came to Iran, Iranians’ embracement of Islam, rapid expansion of Islam in Iran, and more importantly, attractions and privileges of Islam compared to the altered religion of Zoroastrianism, help us understand why Iranians left that old religion and embraced Islam. However, for finding out how Arabs came to succeed in such conquests which they never even had dreamed about, this article has been compiled with an analytical attitude and with the objective of studying the process of embracing Islam by Iranians.
