In this article we study a hyperbolic equation with time variable coefficient. We apply Rothe's method to study the time discretization and convergence of the sequence of the approximate solution. We rewrite the initial boundary value problem as an abstract evolution equation in Banach space that can be analysed for the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution. We also consider a particular example for analysing the theoretical and numerical approximations of corresponding problems.
