Abstract

Authentication is the process of verifying a person’s identity usually based on password and person identification number (PIN). Along with this general approach of authentication arises a shortcoming like the difficulty in remembering the long passwords which is generally the combination of letters, numbers and symbols, forging of this combination as they are not encrypted generally. With the development and enhancement in technologies, the use of computers, mobiles and the internet have increased a lot. With increase in internet usage, cyber crimes have increased a lot too. PIN and password are not reliable security measures anymore in this internet era and we need a more efficient authentication system. Behavioral biometric is an emerging authentication system that resolves most of the flaws of traditional authentication systems (PIN and password). This paper states the various aspects of the behavioral biometrics in the field of verification and identification. In this paper we did a literary survey of different behavioral biometric techniques and their recent work in respective fields.
