Abstract

In present paper, computer simulation has been done to investigate the omnidirectional reflection bands of 1D photonic crystal. After optimizing the structural and optical parameters, the 1D photonic crystal waveguide is designed and the near field distribution in the core medium is obtained. It is found that at designed wavelength, the field is well confined within the guiding layer where the refractive index of guiding layer is lower than the clad layers.
