Abstract

One of the emerging issues in medical-health is, how best the mobile communications technologies that are globally available are exploited. The challenge is to produce a system to transmit a patient's biomedical images directly to doctor's personal digital assistants (PDAs) for monitoring and diagnosis purposes within hospital premises. The proposed paper focuses on the role of DICOM medical images in wireless telemedicine embedded system which transmits the computed tomography (CT) archived in picture archiving and communication system (PACS) server to doctor's PDAs
