Abstract

We have computed excitation cross section (ECS) of Lithium (2s-2p and 2s-3p) by electron impact using convergent close coupling (CCC) method. Here we have compared the calculated ECS results for 2s - 2p excitation with other available theoretical calculations as well as experimental measurements. We have also calculated ECS for 2s-3p excitation up to 10KeV. Our present results are found in excellent agreement with other calculations. At early stage we [1] have also computed ionization cross section of Lithium by impact of electron using time dependent close coupling (TDCC) method. However some discrepancies suggested that more theoretical as well as experimental work is required in future to improve the data.
