Abstract

Recombinant proteins are preferred materials for utilizing in immunoassays, due to their being nonpathogenic. Neuraminidase is the surface protein of avian influenza virus, which is used for immunoassay and diagnostic kits development for the concerned antigen H5N1 Virus. This protein has been produced using the batch fermentation process utilizing 22 L capacity fermentation vessel, from recombinant E. Coli clone. The successive biomass growth was monitored using optical density as a standard measure.
