Abstract

In this paper, Regression model were developed to predict surface roughness in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) process. In the development of predictive models, machining parameters of Pulse current, Pulse on duration, voltage were considered as model variables. For this purpose, Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and F-test were used to check the validity of regression model and to determine the significant parameter affecting the surface roughness. The purpose is to investigate the superior surface finish can be obtained using multi walled carbon nanotubes in the dielectric. For this purpose Copper electrode with and without carbon nanotubes in the dielectric is used. Later the tool steel were analyzed and the parameters are optimized using MINITAB 15 software and regression equation are compared with and without multiwall carbon nanotubes.
