Abstract

In this paper, we study the effect of deflection of magnetic field on the steady MHD flow past an infinite plane wall with suction or injection at the forward stagnation point for constant magnetic interaction parameter N. The governing equation of motion for deflection of magnetic field which involve the parameter λ depend on the angle made by the imposed magnetic field with the wall, is a nonlinear ordinary differential equation of order three and is linearized by quasilinearization method. A collocation method based on fifthdegree B-spline is used to solve the problem and the effects of various parameters have been studied on the velocity of the fluid, momentum thickness, displacement thickness and skin-friction.
